THE WEATHER
Dominion Meteorologist General situation.—Another deep westerly depression is crossing New Zealand, and pressure is now rising in the south. Winds—North-westerly at first in parts of the eastern districts of the North Island, otherwise south-west to southerly, moderate to strong generally and in places of gale force. Seas (New Zealand waters)—Rough to high. Eastern Tasman Sea.—Strong southwesterly winds to gales and rough to very rough seas. Weather—Cloudy to overcast with rain in most districts, snow on the ranges and also parts of the lower levels in the South Island, some thunder and hail storms also probable; temperatures cold. Mr F. L. Wooles Wind.—Strong westerly to southerly ruling. Weather.—Cold and changeable, isolated showers likely, and some sleet or snow in places.
