BASKETBALL CLUB’S DANCE
Under the capable supervision of a committee comprising Misses P. Strachan, P. Keen, L. Pratt, E. Atkins, M, Prosser, J. Walker, E. Hetherington, C. Gaffaney, E. McCubbin, A, King, E. Abraham, arrangements for the Basketball Club’s dance of J. R. McKenzie’s were brought to pleasant realisation at the Cafe Carlton, with bright musical assistance from an orchestra. Novelties afforded cheery variety to the programme, and. songs by Mr J. Duncan, a pianoforte solo by Miss Laurenson and , an exhibition tap dance by Miss Gordon were much appreciated. Varircoloured paper garlands and Chinese lanterns appeared in the decorative scheme. of the danceroom, and vases of African marigolds and tawny chrysanthemums with red and white streamers, the . Club’s colours, centred the supper-tobies. The winners of the novelty dances included Miss Christie and .Mr Jeffries, Miss A. Keen, Miss Tavendale and Mr McDonald, Miss M. O’Leary and Mr Amott.
