APPEAL REFERRED BACK TO CLUB By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, May 13. An appeal by G. Hodgson, of Auckland, owner of Thespis, against the decision of the Judicial Committee of the Avondale Jockey Club in awarding first prize money of £l3O in the Hobsonville Hurdles to Valpai, owned by L, Hodgson, of Hamilton, was heard by the Auckland District Committee. Thespis ran second to Valpai. A protest against Valpai on the ground that his gentleman rider, Mr J. Muir, had infringed the conditions of his license by engaging in the training of horses, including Valpai, was dismissed by the Judicial Committee of the Club. After hearing further evidence, the District Committee decided to refer the matter back to the Avondale Jockey Club for further inquiry.
