May 16 Storm, Lyttelton May 16 Karetu, Lyttelton May 16 Wingatui, Lyttelton May 19 NOTES The Waimarino arrived from Dunedin yesterday and loaded for Wellington and Auckland. She departed in the evening for the north via Lyttelton. The Holmdale is expected to call here from the south to-day to lift Wellington, ‘T’icton and Wanganui shipments. She should get away for Lyttelton this evening. The Kaimai is scheduled to reach Timaru from Oamaru to-day. After taking Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth shipments she is to proceed to Lyttelton. The Breeze is due from Oamaru tomorrow to pick up cargo for Wellington, Picton and Wanganu. The Port Whangarei is to leave Auckland to-day for southern ports and should arrive here about May 16 to load for Wellington, Tauranga, Auckland and Whangarei, via Lyttelton. Mahia Arrives The Shaw, Stiviil and Albion vessel Mahia arrived from Dunedin last night and was berthed at No. 1 wharf where she" is to load general cargo for London. It is expected she will, be here until to-morrow night when she is to sail for Lyttelton. Mataroa Due To-day The Shaw Savill and Albion vessel Mataroa is expected to arrive from Lyttelton to-day to load for Home. She should sail for Port Chalmers about Monday. Pert Wellington for London Full to the hatches with frozen meat and other cargo, the Port Wellington sailed oil Wednesday from Port Chalmers for London. The vessel goes by the Cape Horn route, refuelling at St. Vincent. Karetu Leaves Hobart . The Union Company advises that the Karetu, which loaded freight at Newcastle, Sydney, Port Kembla, and Hobart, left the last-named port at 5 p.m, on Monday for Bluff, Dunedin, Oamaru. Timaru, and Lyttelton. She is due at this port on May 16. Sailings from Liverpool The Federal Line steamer Hertford, which left Lyttelton on March 22 for Southampton and London, is reported to have arrived at Southampton on May 1. The Hertford will take the Northumberland’s sailing on June 1 from Liverpool for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland about July 10. The Surrey will leave Liverpool for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin on June 22, in place of the Hertford. German Red Star Line
The new German Red Star Line was to have commenced its Antwerp-New York service with the sailing of the Westernland from the Belgian port on March 30. The Fennland was to follow on April 27, and thereafter there will be regular fortnightly sailings under conference rules. One class of passenger only ,is to be carried at a flat rate of £23 for the single journey. Remuera Delayed The Remuera, which sailed from London on April 4, via Panama Canal, and which was scheduled to arrive at Wellington to-morrow, has radioed that her time of arrival is doubtful as a result of bad weather.
