CALL AT SYDNEY
ARRIVAL OF NEW NAVAL SLOOP United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received May 2, .290 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 2. The new sloop H.M.S. Wellington, on her maiden voyage to the New Zealand station, to replace H.M.S. Laburnum, arrived completely unheralded in Sydney to-day. The vessel called here to refuel. The ship’s officers and ratings were delighted on arrival in a large city, where they could obtain news, get a real meal and have a look at the theatres and stadiums. The sloop, which is 1300 tons, left England on February 5, making only short stops in the Mediterranean and near East ports.
