SERIOUS FLOOD THREATENING United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright MELBOURNE, May 1. Heavy rain and rising rivers have resulted in a threat of floods in Victoria. The greatest danger is in the valley of the Yarra river. The flood waters have isolated the township of Warburton, inundated homes, driving the residents to higher ground. The rainfall in Melbourne for April was 594 points, the heaviest recorded for 35 years. Shipping at Port Phillip is seriously hampered by the storm.
