EASTER CAMP

PRESBYTERIAN BIBLE CLASSES GATHERING AT ORARI Forty members of Presbyterian Young Men’s Bible Classes from the South Canterbury district met at Orari during Easter to hold their Easter camp. The boys were camped in the Orari Hall and had the use of the Domain with tennis courts. The programme was identical throughout the camp: 7 a.m., Reveille; 8 a.m., Breakfast; 8.45 a.m., Camp Inspection; 9 a.m., Camp Rally; 9.45 a.m„ Study Circles; 11 a.m., Sports, 12.30 p.m., Dinner; 2.5 p.m., Sports; 5.30 p.m., Tea; 6.15 p.m.. Leaders’ Circle; 7 p.m., Sing Song; 7.30 pm., Address; 9.55 p.m.. Camp Prayers; 10.30 p.m„ Lights Out. On Friday evening, Rev. W. J. Couling of Geraldine, spoke of the Master’s great love of us, explaining the sacrifice made by Jesus. The path which the boys had to take in life was clearly pointed out. On Sunday morning the boys attended a service in the Orari Presbyterian Church, at which the Rev. J. Mann and Mr J. Reid officiated. Other meetings were taken by the Rev. J. Baird, while the Rev. A. J. H. Dow gave a very inspiring address on the last night in camp. The Study Circles were led by the Rev. J. Mann and the studies were taken from the syllabus, “Light and Life.” The camp was divided into four circles, each under a leader. The Camp “Dad,” the Rev. J. Baird, of Highfield. Timaru, took the camp rallies and prayer meetings. Many kinds of sport were indulged in. including cricket, football, tennis, hiking, etc., and every boy was given an opportunity to take part in some sport. On Monday, Trinity Class defeated a combined camp team at cricket for the third year in succession. On Saturday the boys held their annual sports, and provided the spectators with some excellent running. The following were the results:— Seniors. Throwing Cricket Ball.—J. Allan iH.) 1, E.
