To typify the Highland show, the table was decorated with a vase of thistle and heather, while the Mackenzie tartan ribbon was also displayed. The candle shades and menu card were also beautifully painted with Scottish emblems. The garnishing, too, was well carried out with a thistle design, and was much admired.
Yesterday afternoon, Miss Margaret Rolleston’s home in LeCren’s Terrace, was charmingly arranged with chrysanthemums and autumn leaves when she was hostess at a tea party in honour of Miss Catherine Johnstone whose marriage takes place to-morrow. Miss Rolleston was wearing a frock of delphinium blue tweed trimmed down the front with buckles, and Miss Johnstone wore a dew-green frock, a black beret and fox furs.
