FINAL WANGANUI AUCTION A GOOD CLEARANCE By Telegraph—Press Association WANGANUI, April 1. The final wool sale of the season was held this morning, when a catalogue of approximately 11,000 bales was submitted for auction. Practically 98 per cent was sold. Prices were id to Id better than at the February sale. Fine wools sold up to lOld, Southdown to lOd, good fine crossbreds to Bd, and medium crossbreds to 63d. Lambs’ wool was Id a lb up on the last sale. Bradford was the most active operator. Germany bought sparingly. The official range of prices was:— Fine halfbred 56/58 — d. d. Super 10i to 105 Average 81 to 95 Medium halfbred 50/56 — Super .. .... .. to 91 Average 71 to 81 Inferior 6i to 7 Extra fine crossbred 48/50 Super 75 to 85 Average 7 to 71 Inferior 6 to 6i Fine crossbred 46/48 — Super 61 to 7 Average 6 to 65 Inferior . i 5 to 55 Medium crossbred 44/46 Super 6 to 65 Average 55 to 6 Inferior 45 to 5 Coarse crossbred— Average 43 to 51 Inferior 4 to 4l Hogget—--48/50 8 to 81 46/48 61 to 65 Lambs— Down 8 to 81 Fine 65 to 8 Seedy and inferior 31 to 5 Bellies and Pieces— Crossbred—• Good to super 41 to 51 Low to medium .. 3 to 4 Crutchings— Medium to good .. 45 to 51 Inferior and seedy 3 to 35 Locks— Crossbred 21 to 35
