KING’S JUBILEE
HONORARY CONTRIBUTIONS TO HUMAN WELFARE United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received March 25, 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 24. ‘The Daily Herald” proposes that men and women who have made enduring contributions to human welfare in King George’s reign should be specially honoured at the Jubilee celebrations. It has been the period of the most tragic war in history, but also the period of the marvellous advance of man’s unending effort to master the world. The aviators, Sir Arthur Whitten Brown, Amy Johnson, C.W.A. Scott and Campbell Black, the explorers such as Sir Hubert Wilkins, medical men such as Professor Mellanby (who discovered the anti-rickets vitamin, Dr. D. Almoth Wright and Dr. Frederick Banting, and the scientists Lord Rutherford and Sir Ambrose Fleming are examples of those on the roll of honour.
