AERO CLUBS

ALLOCATION OF MACHINES By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, March 23. Allocating the six Moth planes imported for aero clubs, the Government has given one each to the West Coast Federated (South Island) Club, the Hawke’s Bay and East Coast Club, the Wairarapa and Ruahine Club, the Wellington Club, the Otago Club and the Southland Club. Four of the six machines, which arrived at Lyttelton at the beginning of this week, are being fitted at Wigram Aerodrome. The remaining two machines will arrive about the middle of April. The machines are being supplied to clubs under the Government’s plan to assist approved aero clubs in the development of aviation. Apart from the six just bought, the Government has bought twenty planes. The machines remain the property of the Government until each has flown 1000 hours, when they become the absolute property of the clubs.
