SHIELD AND CASKET

On Friday and Saturday next teams representing the Southern District (South Canterbury, North Otago, Otago and Southland) will play Canterbury, holders, for the Wilding Shield and Nunnely Casket, the trophies which symbolise tennis supremacy in the Dominion. Canterbury won both trophies from Wellington and has already staved off challenges from Auckland. The Wilding Shield team is as follows: —G. A. Pearce, Otago; W. E. Renton, South Canterbury; J. Rawlinson, Otago; E. A. Pearce, Otago; emergency, K. Bryan, Otago. W. G. Robertson, South Canterbury, was not available. The Nunnely Casket team is as follows: Misses D. Miller, Otago, E. Partridge, Otago; R. Barton, Otago; P. Guest. Southland.
