Things of Beauty:

Readers are invited to share gratuitously in this department, jottings of beautiful things, seen, heard or felt, such as Goldfishes in a lily pond and the rhythm of softly showering water from the fountain. Sunset behind a hill-top, touching neighbouring bush trees with red-gold light. Coloured pearls in the grass, made by dewdrops in morning sunlight. Lace-like loveliness of softly falling snow on pine-tree branches and little shrubs. The clear notes of bell-birds, rising and falling from the native bush nearby on Autumn days. A baby’s smile which all may share. Lovely thoughts, and a violin played softly at twilight. Contributed by S. Riches, Geraldine. The confiding “cheep” of baby chicks as the hen gathers them under her wing. A child at prayer at her mother’s knee. A smile lighting up a care-lined face when a kindly word of praise is given. The fragrance of the grateful earth and grass and leaves and floioers that mingle into fareicell to the summer shower. Arching lines of a slender elm etched upon the snow by a brilliant winter moon. -I* 4* »> *l* 4* 4* 4* 4- 4* 4* 4* 4- »> 4+ 4* 4* 4* 4* 4+ 4* 4* 4+ 4* 4*
