Dominion Meteorologist General situation: The anti-cyclone over New Zealand is losing its intensity. A deep depression Is centred over Tasmania. Winds: Variable over the North Island with southerlies predominating at first, northerlies prevailing in and south of Cook Strait and freshening. Seas (New Zealand waters): Smooth to moderate generally at first, later rising about Cook and Foveaux Straits. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate but freshening north to north-west winds; seas smooth to moderate, but rising. Weather: Rain developing about Foveaux Strait and extending along the West Coast of the South Island: elsewhere fair to fine with rising temperatures. Mr F. L. Wooles Wind: Moderate to strong northerly to westerly. Weather: Fair to cloudy and warm.
