COMPULSORY LIQUIDATION ADVOCATED United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph —Copyright (Received March 22, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, March 21. A meeting of the shareholders of the White Star Line voted in favour of compulsory liquidation. The directors will immediately petition the Court for the winding up of the company compulsorily. A meeting held on March 7 adjourned for a ‘fortnight, following repeated demands from the shareholders for compulsory rather than voluntary liquidation. The company showed a debit balance of £12,177 for its last year’s operations, as disclosed in the balance-sheet published last July, the deficiency account then standing at £2,167,714.
