CONFERENCE IN TIMARU NEXT WEEK It is anticipated that more than 30 i delegates, representing 19 districts - throughout the Dominion, will be pret sent in Timaru next week for the > opening of the eighth conference of the New Zealand Libraries’ Association > on March 26. . Among the topics to be discussed is ' the report on New Zealand libraries recently received from the Carnegie Cor--1 poration. Mr C. S. Perry, deputylibrarian of the Wellington Public Library will contribute a paper on 1 “Library Publicity,” and Mr E. J. Bell, l ' librarian of the Canterbury Public 5 Library, will probably give an address on “Canadian and American libraries.’ " It is also expected that there will be 1 an address on British libraries by a 1 New Zealand librarian who has just 1 returned from a Carnegi l tour. The r constitution of the association will be ' revised and the question of examina--3 tions for New Zealand library assist- „ ants will also be discussed. , The president is Mr G. Benstead, 3 and honorary secretary Mr Bell.
