At the woolsales, 9278 bales were offered including 4409 New Zealand and 4693 Australian, Approximately 8256 bales of New Zealand and Australian were sold. There was a good Home and Continental demand at steady rates. New Zealand: Greasy Merino “Dumgree” top 13£d, average 121 d.
SYDNEY WOOL SALES ADVANCE FOR BETTER CLASS LINES United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received March 21, 9.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 21. At the woolsale 12,047 bales were offered, and 11,392 were sold, also 1047 privately. Continental operators gave increased support, and values for all the better class wools were from par to five per cent, higher than yesterday’s level. Greasy merino made to 17d per lb.
RUSSIANS IN THE MARKET OPERATIONS RESUMED IN ENGLAND United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received March 21, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, March 20. “The Yorkshire Observer” states that the Russians have resumed operations at the London wool sales, taking chiefly greasy merinos.
