PRINTERS’ DISPUTE

NEGOTIATIONS FOR A SETTLEMENT By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, March 21. An unofficial conference was held this morning between the representatives of the employers and the Printers’ Union. A further conference was held in the afternoon, at which various proposals for a settlement were discussed. After a full and frank review from both sides, the Union representatives withdrew. It is expected that a crucial decision will be made tomorrow afternoon. A fully attended meeting of the Southland branch of the typographical Union was held to-day to discuss the dispute. Various resolutions were passed regarding the present situation, but no information as to the nature of the resolutions was made available f.r publication.
