NOTES The Wainui loaded yesterday for Wellington, Napier and Gisborne and departed for the north via Lyttelton. The Gale called at Timaru yesterday to pick up shipments for Wellington, Picton and Wanganui. She sailed in the evening for Lyttelton. The Port Whangarei arrived from Dunedin yesterday and after loading for Wellington, Tauranga, Auckland and Whangarei departed for Lyttelton. The Orepuki is the next scheduled arrival at Timaru. She is expected from Oamaru on Sunday and after loading on Monday for Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth is to sail for the north via Lyttelton.

Somerset Away The Federal Line steamer Somerset, which was loading meat, wool and general cargo for London and West Coast ports of the United Kingdom, sailed last night for Bluff. She will complete at Lyttelton. Wellington and Auckland, which will be her final port. Janies Cook Coming The new steamer James Cook is to leave Sydney on Saturday for South Island ports. The New Zealand Star The Blue Star Line motor ship, New Zealand Star, was to leave London yesterday on her maiden voyage to New Zealand. The vessel will discharge at Lyttelton, where she -is due on April 22, Port Calmers and New Plymouth. She will then load Homeward. Trojan Star from Glasgow Advice has been received that the Blue Star steamer Trojan Star is expected to reach Port Chalmers from Glasgow on Saturday. The Trojan Star is coming in ballast to load at Port Chalmers, Wellington, Wanganui. New Plymouth, and Auckland for London and west coast ports of the United Kingdom. She will clear Auckland on April 9. Rotorua Clears Colon Advice has been received that the Rotorua sailed from Colon (Cristobal) on March 17.
