GERALDINE
THE FOOTBALL CLUB’S YEAR COMMITTEE’S REVIEW The committee of the Geraldine Football Club will present the following report to the annual meeting of members this evening;— The club has had a successful season iri spite of serious difficulties. The senior team, particularly, made a splendid showing during the season, and improved considerably as the season progressed. One player secured representative honours, and one was selected as a representative emergency. The senior team suffered a sever loss through the transfer of its captain, Dan Callanan, to Christchurch. The fifth grade, fourth grade, and junior grade teams all experienced very great difficulty in fielding teams, particularly for matches away from home. The position with regard to these teams is so serious that earnest consideration must be given to their prospects before entries are made for the approaching season. In August last the death occurred of Mr John Kennedy, our respected president, who had taken a keen interest in the affairs of the club for many years. The committee had extended its sincere sympathy to Mrs Kennedy and family on behalf of the members. At the beginning of the season the ■ club had a credit of £9 13s 2d. Our j present position is that we have a I credit in the Post Office Savings Bank of 3/7, and a credit with the Bank of New Zealand of 17/4. We have not yet paid the Domain rental for 1934. The committee wishes to I tender its sincere thanks to all those who had helped and supported the Club during the season. VICTORIA LODGE N.G. Bro. G. R.
