ANGLO-SWISS PLANS United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received March 20, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, March 19. The Swiss Air Service and the Imperial Airways jointly haive inaugurated a new London to Zurich service. The Swiss Air Service is using a Douglas twin-engined monoplane, which will take 31 hours, while the Imperial Airways biplanes will take six hours. The aviation correspondent of “The Daily Telegraph” says: The British machines use 57 h.p. per passenger, compared with the Douglas's 100 h.p., illustrating the truism that speed costs money. The Post Office advises that there is practically no possibility of the incoming air mail catching the Wanganella on Saturday.
