LODGE MEETINGS

N.G. Bro. James Niles presided over a good attendance of members at the fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Timaru Lodge M.U.1.0.0.F. No. 5308 held on Wednesday. Two candidates were initiated. The sick report showed a very favourable improvement, one member being declared on and seven off the funds. May 18 was suggested as a date for a return visit to the Loyal Sister Pearce Lodge, Christchurch, and Bros. J. Nile, J. List. W. Tonkin, Sisters M. Green, and M. Webb, were appointed a committee for the management of the visit. Members were reminded of the Church Parade. One candidate was proposed for membership. The fortnightly meeting of the Sunshine Rebekah Lodge No. 15 1.0.0. F. was held in the Forresters Hall on Wednesday evening. N.G. Sister J. Anderson presiding over a good attendance of members. Sister Anderson resigned her position as she is leaving the district. Sister Read, on behalf of the members wished her every success in her new sphere. Final arrangements were made for the visit to Waimate. Bro. R. Clarke. D.D.G.M., conveyed an invitation of members to a social at Temuka on the occasion of the official visit of Bro. A. Guy, Grand Master. A competition was won by Mrs D. Goodwin. Christchurch. Supper was served by Sisters Mahan and Read.
