WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
SEADOWN The fourth annual meeting of the Seadown Women’s Institute was held in the school, Mrs S. Cargo presiding. The reports of the secretary and treasurer showed that a successful year had been experienced. The election of officers resulted:— President, Mrs S. Cargo; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames Hewson, Pemberton and W. Smith; secretary, Mrs W. Cain; treasurer, Mrs H. Brosnahan; committee. Mesdames Cargo. Hewson, Smith, Pemberton, Brosnahan, Cain, Waite, Topham, McCully and Miss Betty Brosnahan.
Mrs Topham had on view a cushion and kindly showed members how it was worked.
Competitions resulted: —Bowl of any kind of flowers, Mrs Topham 1, Mrs Cain 2; plain oven scones, Mrs Smith 1, Mrs Brosnahan 2.
The president thanked all the members for their help at the birthday party, special mention being made of Miss Mabel McCully and Miss Dorothy Brosnahan for their help at the sweets stall.
A vote of thanks to the hostesses, Mrs Smith. Mrs Brosnahan and the Misses Brosnahan. brought a pleasant afternoon to a close.
