ESSENTIALS OF PEACE
EUROPE MUST CO-OPERATE MR EDEN'S FAITH IN CAUSE OP PEACE British Official Wireless RUGBY, March 8. Speaking at Kenilworth, Mr Anthony Eden referred to the fact' that he had been asked to represent his Majesty’s Government on a visit to Moscow and Warsaw in response to an invitation from the Soviet and Polish Governments. He said: “We in this country desire nothing so much as a settlement of the Continent of Europe, which will, by its solution of outstanding problems, secure the maintenance of peaceful and friendly relations and the authority of the League of Nations for many years to come.
“To achieve this the co-operation of all nations is essential,’’ Mr Eden added. "That is the object, and that is the result we must surely strive to achieve,” he said. “It is because I believe so deeply in the truth of what I have just said that I am so happy to have been entrusted with this important mission.” It is understood that no date has yet been fixed for Mr Eden’s visit to Moscow and Warsaw, but it is hoped that it will be possible to arrange it towards the end of the present month.
