IRISH FOLK-LORE
PRESERVATION BY FREE STATE United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received March 10, 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 9. The Free State has appointed a commission to collect oral and written folklore. The Government is authorising the expenditure of £3250 for five years. Collectors will travel the country with machines recording stories, songs and old people’s recollections of Irish life, customs and traditions.
