“GRAND OLD MAN OF EUROPE”
PRESIDENT MASARYK HONOURED British Official Wireless (Received March 10, 6.30 p.m.) RUGBY, March 9. A warm tribute to President Masaryk, who yesterday celebrated his 86th birthday, was broadcast by Sir Samuel Hoare, who had been a close associate of his before and during the war. The British Press also contained many references to this “Grand Old Man of Europe,” and his services to Czecho-Slovakia.
