TIMARU POTTERY WORKS
OPERATIONS TO COMMENCE IMMEDIATELY
Plans and specifications for the alterations to the factory in Timaru were submitted by the architect and examined by the provisional directors of the South Canterbury Pottery and Mining Company Ltd. at a meeting held on Saturday evening. It was decided go call tenders immediately as it was considered advisable to reach production of crockery and other articles at the earliest possible moment. The meeting also adopted several agreements enabling the company to speed up operations and the immediate programme of work was discussed with the company’s experts. A further allotment of shares was made, and the organising bx-okers reported that arrangements were well in hand for the placing of the balance of the capital. The general manager and the secretary reported that considerable progress had been made in the establishment work since the last meeting, and that the company would shortly receive its certificate to commence business, the necessary requirements under the Act having been complied with.
