The Canton Government has offered a reward of 5000 dollars and the owners of the Tungchow have offered 2500 dollars for the capture of the pirate chief. The Canton authorities have sent a regiment of troops to the Bias Bay area, from Waichow, and also troops from Canton are taking active and strenuous measures for the apprehension of the pirates. Special orders have been given to magistrates and troops in the area. Meanwhile it is learned that H.M.S. Decoy, which has returned here, landed a number of Chinese troops in the Swabue area.
