WAR OFFICE WANTS MUD
To the average Returned Soldier who served in France, the thought of Military Headquarters wanting mud must seem at least unusual. Yet such was the case in England in the recent very dry summer. The reason is that army dress reformers cannot make final recommendations on the new uniform until it has been tried In the most rigorous weather. Experiments have been going on for two years but during that time there has not been sufficient bad weather to give the new uniforms a thorough test. Even now. there are people who consider as unusual the process of toasting as applied to tobacco. Those, however, who have tried Blue Shield (medium), and Red Shield (dark) know it means added pleasure to their smoking. It brings out In a subtle and delicious way all the qualities of the tobacco, enabling them to enjoy real wholesome satisfaction—at the modest price of 1/7 per 2oz tin, while the one-pound canis- ! aj*o even mors economic&l 11/8.
