Mrs Hector Harris, Wai-iti Road, is on a visit to Auckland. Miss Eileen Bonnington, Christchurch, is staying at the Empire. Mrs and Miss Hartley (Christchurch) are guests at the Grand. Mr and Mrs J. R. Callender (Dunedin) are guests at the Grosvenor. Mrs Gerald Murray, “Glenmore,” Mackenzie Country, is staying at the Grand. Mr and Mrs Vogan, and the Misses Vogan (Christchurch) are staying at the Dominion. Mrs Feilden, Orton, is staying with Mrs A. C. Wigley, “Opuha Lodge,” Park Lane. Mrs T. E. Holdgate and her daughters. Branscombe Street, are camping at the Opihi. Mrs W. Shakespeare, Auckland, who is the guest of Mrs J. Temple, Highfield, will leave to-day for Dunedin. Miss Joyce Coles, Bluecliffs Road. St. Andrews, is spending a holiday with Mrs A. Blackmore, Avonside, Christchurch. Mrs Leonard Tripp and Miss Henry, Wellington, who were the guests of Mrs Bernard Tripp. “Orielton,” have left for Christchurch. Mrs Huddleston and Miss Edith Huddleston. “Cadogan,” Sefton Street, who have been camping at the Opihi River, are expected home to-day. Captain and Mrs S. M. Satterthwaite. Dunedin, who are staying with Mrs T. W. Satterthwaite, Elizabeth Street, will return south to-day. The Misses Sherratt have returned to “Atherstone,” Geraldine, from Christchurch, where they have been spending a short holiday.

Mr and Mrs E. T. Wray, Bournemouth, England, are on a visit to New Zealand, after an absence of 10 years. They intend visiting the lakes and Mt. Cook.

In the Art Society’s exhibition held recently in New Plymouth, Miss Rachel Mee, of Levels, was accorded special mention for three paintings, one of which took the prize for still-life in water-colour. Miss Doris Haworth, Dunedin, has arrived in England to gain new knowledge of her profession as an interior decorator, in which she has specialised in New Zealand. Her intention is to gain all possible knowledge of modem furnishing, to visit the exhibitions, the leading manufacturers, and the showrooms where the latest goods are displayed. Miss Haworth expects to be in England for some months. A delightful party was given at the home of Mr and Mrs Harry Webb, Latter Street, on Monday night, to celebrate the coming of age of their eldest daughter, Janie. The guests numbering 30 were treated to a very enjoyable evening. Music, games, and competitions were enjoyed. Supper was partaken of. during which the usual toasts were honoured. Mr Webb handed his daughter a beautiful gold key to mark the occasion.
