In the Diet Mr Okada said that the Government has a project for the relief and eventual rehabilitation of the suffering farming and fishing populations. The general tone of Mr Okada’s speech was somewhat optimistic, especially regarding the growth of foreign trade, anticipating further expansion.
QUEST OF FOREIGN TRADE JAPANESE HINT TO NEW ZEALAND United Press Association —B.v Electric Telegraph —Copyright (Received January 22, 11.10 p.m.) SYDNEY, January 22. A Japanese wool buyer, Mr T. Taito, who returned to Sydney to-day from New Zealand after attending the wool sales there, said that Japan in future intended to buy more wool in New Zealand because that country showed a desire to trade with Japan.
Japan was buying only New Zealand fine wools at present, said Mr Saito, but experiments, however, were being carried out with a view to dealing with the coarser types of New Zealand wool.
