CHRISTCHURCH RESIDENT KILLED By Telegraph—Press Association OAKI, December 19. Mr A. Manhire. of Christchurch, fell from the Auckland express last night and was killed. Mr Manhire was the district inspector of the National Mutual Life Insurance, and prominent in local bodies. He was a foundation member of the Waimakariri River Trust, past Mayor of Spreydon. and an ex-member of the Christchurch City Council. He was a prospective independent candidate for Christchurch North at the next election.
