The heat wave continues in New South Wales and Queensland, with numerous registrations of over the century. At Charleville (Queensland), a temperature of 115 degrees was recorded. HEAT WAVE IN TOLAIt REGIONS SUDDEN RISE IN TEMPERATURES By Radio—Special to Press Association— Prom the Byrd Antarctic Expedition (Received December 19, 5.5 p.m.) LITTLE AMERICA, Dec. 18. A heat wave struck Little America to-day, the temperature reaching 37 above zero. An unseasonable thaw started the ice in the Bay of Whales moving seaward, and the seas are vanishing deeper into the ice pack. The camp has been moved to arvoid the killer whales, which roam the cold waters in packs. According to wireless to the camp, the tractor and sledging parties met on December 16 on the plateau in Scott Land, 150 miles eastward, and are proceeding to camp together.
