RESORT TO PRICE CUTTING Bv Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, November 19. Both evening papers in Christchurch the “Star” and the “Sun” were sold this afternoon at Id. The first edition of the “Star” was sold at this reduced price and the contents bill announced the reduction. The first edition of the “Sun” was marked 2d as usual, but immediately a stop-press announcement was made of a reduction to Id, and the second and later editions were sold at the lower rate. So far as is known both the morning papers, the “Press” and the “Times” will be sold at 2d to-morrow.
