PIPE BANDS
WEST COAST CONTEST By TelegTapb— Press Association GREYMOUTH, November 17. The Highland Pipe Band cont.st, under the auspices of the Highland Pipe Band Association of New Zealand, was held at Rugby Park, Greymouth, to-day in delightful weather. There was a large attendance. The judges were:—Music: Pipe-Major D. Finlay; military and marching: Captain C. W. Fitzgerald and Lieutenant R. Fleming; paces: Lieutenant E. Caldwell and Lieutenant W, Hutton; dress: Sergeant 9. Johnstone and Pipe-Sergeant E. J. Hay. The following bands competed:— Ashburton County, Canterbury Caledonian Society, Blackball Caledonian Society, Christchurch Scottish, North Canterbury Caledonian and Runanga Caledonian.
