SUCCESSFUL CONCERT

Miss Amy Nevill-Smith and her pupils are to be congratulated on the very successful vocal and violin recital they gave in the Little Playhouse last night. The stage looked most attractive, hung with rich red curtains and decorated with bowls of arum lilies, Oriental poppies and red geums. During the evening Miss Nevill-Smith and Miss Newman received beautiful bouquets. Miss Nevill-Smith wore a silk frock in vivid shades of red, which was veiled in black net, the deep flounces on the skirt being embroidered in jet and gold sequins. Miss Margaret Martin wore flame coloured satin, the short coatee having tiny puff sleeves. Miss Ida Nicholas, shell pink satin, made with rounded neck-line and puffed sleeves. Miss Doris Hall, wine coloured charmeuse. with yoke and sleeves of chenille. Miss M. Ramsay lemon coloured crepe georgette, made with shoulder cape effect. Miss Florence Munro. floral georgette in tones of blue and red, with blue velvet belt. Miss Isabel Widdup, black velvet frock, with collar of beige georgette. Miss Roberts, coral pink, crepe satin, with wide sash of satin. Miss Lily Buxton, floral marocain in shades of white, green and red. Miss Scota Steward, mushroom pink satin frock cut on plain lines. Miss Ivy Carnegie, black velvet frock with £pwl collar of white crepe de Miss Elma Newman, who acted as accompaniste, wore a frock of orange shaded georgette. At the conclusion of the concert the performers and their friends were entertained at Miss Nevill-Smith’s home at a very enjoyable supper party. Those present included: Mrs W. Priest. Mrs W. Jones.
