MINIATURE RIFLES

HILTON CLUB The members of the Hiiton Miniature Rifle Club held their annual ball and presentation of trophies in the Hilton Hall, the function proving a most successful and enjoyable one. In introducing Mr Jas. Gresham, president of the South Canterbury Miniature Rifle Association, the Club's patron, Mr J. Little, apologised for the absence of the president, Mr F. Charles, and Mr E. O. Winmill. Mr Gresham congratulated the Club on the very successful season and mentioned the Club’s success in winning the Hayhurst Shield which was one of the biggest shoots in the South Island, The Club's average for the season compared very favourably with that of any club in New Zealand. K. Brenton. New Zealand championrunner-up—L. Beattie (gold medal). New' Zealand championship (vicepresident’s match) L. Beattie (miniature cup). Geraldine County Miniature Rifle Association championship, runner-up— R. Meredith (miniature cup). Hayhurst Shield shoot D grade—B. Lang (miniature cup). Fletcher Cup (17 nights’ shoot)—W.
