CRICKET CLUB FORMED At a meeting in the Orari Hall on Tuesday evening, Mr C. H. Gerard presiding, it was decided to form a cricket club. Subscriptions were fixdd at 5/- for senior and 2/6 for juniors. Mr W. Payne senr. was thanked for the use of a field. The following officers were appointed:—Patron, Mr W. Payne senr.; president, Mr C. H. Gerard; vicepresidents, Messrs T. H. Langford, G. H. Wood, S. R. Muff, R. M. Innes, H. Killoh and W. Quirke; captain, Mr C. McNicol; vice-captain, Mr R. Dixon; secretary, Mr C. McNicol; committee, Messrs McNicol, Dixon, L. Wood, R. Earl, T. Hughes, P. Quirke and W. Payne; selectors, president, captain and vice-captain. PERSONAL Mr A. Anderson, of the Railway relieving staff, is acting as stationmaster at Orari during the absence of Mr S. O’Brien on annual leave. The Orari School was visited on Wednesday by Miss Brownlee, physical drill instructress for the Canterbury Education Board.
