PROFESSIONAL GOLFERS

KIRKWOOD AND SARAZEN MAY VISIT TIMARU There is a possibility that golfing enthusiasts in South Canterbury may have the privilege of seeing J. H. Kirkwood and Gene Sarazen in action in Timaru towards the end of this month. Yesterday the president of the Timaru Golf Club (Mr W. H. Walton) received a cable message from Kirkwood inquiring whether the Timaru course would be available for an exhibition match between Sarazen and himself towards the end of the month, and also inquiring what terms the club was prepared to offer. Negotiations are now in progress between the club and Kirkwood.
