RAID ON MOTOR BANDITS
PEPPER THROWN AND SHOTS FIRED DARING DOING IN DAYLIGHT United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph —Copyright (Received November 9, 8 p.m.) SYDNEY, November 9. While carrying bags of money and a payroll for a local department store at Darlinghurst to-day, two men were attacked by bandits. Pepper was thrown in their eyes and a shot was fired. The sum of £2O was stolen. The bandits escaped in a waiting motorcar. The victims of the outrage were George Oakman (aged 66) and Leslie Klyb (aged 44). The former was shot in the groin. The pair were taken to hospital. They are in no danger, but are suffering intense pain as a result of the use of pepper.
