YOUTHFUL GOLFER

EXCITEMENT OVER VICTORY With tears of joy running down her cheeks, Nancy Jupp bowed her thanks to the gallery when she achieved the unprecedented feat of winning the British girl’s golf championship at the age of 13. She is a Scots girl from Longniddry, near Edinburgh. No national open title open to the world has been won by so youthful a player. Bobby Jones won his first title at the age of 14. Having had little or no sleep overnight, owing to her feverish excitement, she was exhausted after the match. All she wanted was to be taken away from the crowd, each member of which wanted to shake her by the hand or pat her on the back.
