BRITAIN DEFEATS QUEENSLAND United Press Association—By Electrv Telegraph —Copyright (Received November 1, 10.30 p.m.) BRISBANE, November 1. In the golf match Britain v. Queensland, the visitors won by 4i matches to I£. Results:— The Hon. Michael Scott (Britain) defeated J. N. Radcliffe (Queensland), 4 up and 3 to play. Garnett (Britain) defeated B. Gill (Queensland), 4 and 3.

McLean (Britain) defeated C. R. Boyce (Queensland) 3 and 2.

Bourn (Britain) and J. N. Neil (Queensland) finished all square.

In the four ball matches the Hon, Michael Scott and Garnett lost to Radcliffe and Boyce 3 and 2.

McLean and Bourn defeated Gill and Neil, 1 up. Although the British amateurs had the better of the singles, they had a much keener fight in the four-ball matches. McLean, with an approximate round of 69, played the soundest golf in the singles, but his opponent 3oyce did well to hold him until the sixteenth hole. Scott, without revealing brilliant golf, played steadily. Radcliffe had an off day. Garnett achieved some of the lowest drives seen at Brisbane, frequently being well over 300 yards. Bourn was hard pressed by Neil, but a brilliant spurt enabled him to halve the match. Neil and Bourn were erratic in driving in the four-ball game. Radcliffe and Boyce were on top form to defeat Scott and Garnett. The British players appeared to lack touch, one reason probably being the heat.
