PROJECTED DEPARTURES

NOTES

The Holmdale did not arrive to schedule yesterday but she should be here from Oamaru to-day to load for Wellington, Picton, Nelson and Wanganui. The Gale is due from Dunedin to-day. After loading for Wellington, Picton and Wanganui she is to sail for the north via Lyttelton. The Kiwitea is not now expected to arrive at Timaru till Monday when she is due from Lyttelton to discharge coal from the West Coast. The Breeze should be an arrival from the south on Monday. She is to take Wellington, Wanganui and New Plymouth shipments before sailing for the north via Lyttelton. Man Overboard The Director-General of the Post and Telegraph Department advises that the following warning had been broadcast from the m.v. King Neptune: "All ships; 0.15 G.M.T. lat. 37.04 S. 150.13 E. Lost man overboard. Ships in vicinity please keep sharp look-out.” The British motor ship King Neptune, 5,224 tons gross, left Manchester on August 31 for Sydney via Las Palmas and the Cape of Good Hope. Port Fairy Leaves London The Commonwealth and Dominion Line’s motor ship Port Fairy left London on October 25 for Suva, Dunedin, and Lyttelton. She is due at Dunedin about December 4. The Armadale The A. and A. Line’s chartered motor ship Armadale, arrived at Auckland from New York last Thursday to unload general merchandise. She sailed for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Australia on Saturday afternoon to complete discharge. The vessel experienced fair weather during the voyage, which was exceptionally eventful. The Armadale was one of the vessels that went to the assistance of the liner Morro Castle, which was destroyed by fire on September 8. When the Armadale was at Balboa she collided with the wharf and considerably damaged her stem. She is now being fitted with a new cylinder head to replace one that cracked when she was arriving at Auckland. Personal Captain G. M. Simpson is now in command of the Matai, relieving Captain Webbling on account of illness. Mr H. Shore, chief steward of the Kartigi, broke a leg at Dunedin on Wednesday morning and was taken to hospital.
