VISIT TO THE CAPITAL
MARLBOROUGH EXCURSIONISTS By Telegrach Press Association BLENHEIM, October 31. Marlborough will be largely out of town to-morrow on the occasion of the seventy-fifth anniversary of the foundation of the province. The ferry steamer Tamahine, on a special excursion to Wellington for the day, is fully booked, and will take more than 900 passengers on a visit to Wellington, arriving there about 10.15 a.m., and returning in the late afternoon. Some of the excursionists living at the end of the railway line will leave their homes as early as 2.30 a.m., as their train leaves the terminus at Ward at 3.45, while the main body of excursionists join at Blenheim r.t 5.30. In spite of the early hour, it is safe to say that at least 2000 would have joined the ship if accommodation had been available, and there has been a good deal of profiteering in tickets. This morning a queue for tickets was formed before 6 o’clock. The weather prospects are good.
