No vessels arrived at Timaru yesterday, and the Holmdale is the only one scheduled for to-day. She is due from Oamaru to load for Wellington, Picton, Nelson and Wanganui and should sail this evening for Lyttelton.
The Gale is expected from Dunedin to-morrow. After taking Wellington and Wanganui shipments she is to proceed to Lyttelton. The Kiwitea was delayed by rain at Westport but got away for Wellington early yesterday morning. She is due to reach Timaru from Lyttelton on Saturday to discharge coal.
The Breeze should be here from Dunedin on Monday to load for Wellington, Picton and Wanganui and should sail the same day for the north via Lyttelton. The Kartigi is en route from Wellington to Dunedin from whence she proceeds to Timaru. She should arrive about Tuesday to lift Auckland cargo. Breeze For Overhaul. The Canterbury Steamship Company’s motor ship Breeze arrived at Lyttelton on Monday from Wanganui, to dock for annual overhaul. Port Gisborne at London. The C. and D. Line’s motor ship Port Gisborne, which left Auckland on September 18 for London, arrived at the Home port on October 25. Tekoa Clears Colon. Cabled advice has been received by the Federal Company that the Tekoa, which left Auckland on September 1 for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool, and Glasgow via the Panama Canal, cleared Colon on October 22. Ship’s Radio Doctor. Medical advice may be obtained from New Zealand coast stations by ships of all nationalities, the ‘Gazette’ announces. Radio-telegrams requesting medical advice should state briefly and clearly the symptoms of the illness of the person afflicted, and contain a brief description of the medical chest carried on the ship. Such radio-telegrams should be drawn up in the English language, signed by the master of the ship, and addressed “Radio-medical,” followed by the name of the coast station. In very urgent cases the urgency signal (X.X.X.) may be used in order to ensure priority over all other communications with the exception of those relating to S.O.S. calls. No charge is msde for medical advice radio-telegrams.
