THE WEATHER
Dominion Meteorologist. General situation.—An anti-cyclone extends from Queensland across the Tasman Sea and New Zealand, while a slight depression is advancing over the South Tasman Sea. Winds.—Light and variable but gradually tending northerly and freshening about and south of Cook Strait. Seas (New Zealand waters).—Rather rough in Foveaux Strait, elsewhere smooth to moderate.
Eastern Tasman Sea.—Light and variable winds, smooth to moderate seas in the northern portion, moderate to fresh northerly to westerly winds with mode-ate seas in the southern portion. Weather.—Still fine generally, becoming gradually milder but some isolated showers likely on the West Coast of the South Island and in the far north and south. Mr F. L. Wooles. Weather.—Fine and warm. Wind.—Moderate to fresh northerly.
