SALVATION ARMY
SELF-DENAL APPEAL The members of the Salvation Army Home League held a musical eveningin aid of the Self-Denial Appeal. T.iere was a large attendance, and the programme presented was most acceptable. Mrs Adjutant Dick presided and thanked all for their kindly interest and support. The appeal would close to-morrow, and the amount raised would be announced next week. The following was the programme: Children's choir, Mrs Ewings pupils; pianoforte duet, Lois Chamberlain and Harold Paisley; vocal solo, “To A Minature,” Kenneth Bracefleld; elocutionary items, Olive Gibson; pianoforte duet, Leslie Wilson ai.d Leo Bennie; violin solo, “Ave Maria,” Miss Gibson; pianoforte solo, Lois Chamberlain; vocal solo, “Catterbox,” Phyllis Crawford; elocutionay items Verna McCann duet, “Maori Canoe Song,” Verna McCann and Olive Gibson; pianoforte trio, Harold Paisley, Leo Rennie and Leslie Wilson; violin solo, “Gavotte,” Miss Gibson; dialogue, Miss Harvey and Miss Heywood; vocal solo, “In An Old Fashioned Towm,” Leo Rennie; elocutionary items. Miss Heywood; whistling solo. Bro. Hansen; pianoforte duet, Reta. Paisley and Ruby Matheson; vocal solo, ‘Old Fashioned Mother of Mine,” K. Bracefleld; elocutionary items, Mr Wills; children’s choir. Mr Inglis Todd accompanied Miss Gibson’s items.
