TIGHTENING UP OF ADMINISTRATION United Press Association—By Electrto Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, October 29. The “Daily Herald” says that the meat spies, whom the Rt. Hon. W. E. Elliot sent to investigate alleged widespread frauds in connection with the meat subsidy, reported unfavourably in numerous cases. Mr Elliot had decided on a severe tightening up of the regulations, and is also considering the question of prosecuting offending farmers. Whatever restrictions or control the Federal Government places on the Winnipeg Grain Exchange, the Government stabilisation policy will be continued, according to an announcement to-night by Mr J. J. McFarland.
