NEW SECRETARY APPOINTED At a well attended meeting of the Council of the South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce yesterday afternoon, Mr F. J. Cook was appointed secretary of the Chamber, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr J. Leggott. The resignation of Mr Leggott was received at the last meeting of the Council of the Chamber, and a special committee was set up to consider the applications, and reduce them to three, these 10 be submitted to a special meeting of the Council. Six applications were received for the position, and the final names were placed before the Council yesterday, the selection favouring Mr Cook.
