WHAREPONGA TRAGEDY

CORONER’S VERDICT By Telegraph—Pres? Association GISBORNE, October 30. The inuest on the victims of the Whareponga tragedy was resumed today at Waipiro Bay, the proceedings being more or less formal, since George Taylor, one of the deceased, before taking his own life had left a note incriminating himself as the murderer of Hori Smith and his wife, Hinehao Smith. After evidence had been heard the acting-coroner said it was clear that it was a case of murder and suicide, and the jury returned a verdict accordingly.
